IF A PRIVATE PERSON WISHES TO PUT A VEHICLE IN THE CAR & TRUCK AUCTION:
RULES
- Must have title Free & Clear of any liens - vehicle must be paid off.
- The vehicle should have a current MD State Inspection Certificate - IF UNINSPECTED - the vehicle may be sold thru the public sale, BUT DEALERS ONLY are allowed to bid on the vehicle if it is NOT INSPECTED - THIS IS MD STATE LAW!
- Vehicle must be in the name of the Seller.
- The vehicle and all paperwork must be on our premises NO LATER than Wednesday noon, the week of the public sale.
- There is a contract that must be filled out when the vehicle is brought in. The SELLER must establish a Minimum Bid - the LEAST amount of money they want for the vehicle. If the Bidding comes to that figure or more, we AUTOMATICALLY sell the vehicle. If the bidding comes within $500.00 of the minimum, we sell as "SUBJECT TO." This is subject to your approval. You have the right to accept or decline the bid.
- If you accept the bid, proceeds checks are sent out 2 weeks AFTER THE SALE DATE.
FEES
$100.00 CASH CONSIGNMENT FEE: This fee is paid when the vehicle is brought in and is NON-REFUNDABLE. The fee stands regardless if you sell the vehicle or not.
If you accept the bid and sell the vehicle, AN ADDITIONAL 1 1/2% OF THE SALE PRICE is deducted (in addition to the $100.00). Some vehicles are offered over the internet to registered dealers, A fee of $50 is deducted if the vehicle is sold over the internet
Checks go out 2 weeks AFTER THE SALE DATE.
IF YOU DO NOT SELL THE VEHICLE, you may run the vehicle in the next public sale - for an additional $50.00 NON-REFUNDABLE FEE, ONLY IF THE VEHICLE REMAINS ON OUR PROPERTY. If you remove the vehicle and bring it back, a $100.00 ENTRY FEE applies.
